Plans and limits
Which tools you can use depends on your plan. A tool that is not on your plan does not appear in your assistant's tool list at all, and is refused with a plain message if it is called anyway.
The plan names below are the ones the server uses. The pricing page calls Grow Pro.
For what each plan costs, see the dashboard or the Civic IQ pricing page. This page covers access only.

What "limited" means on the Free plan
| Tool | Rows returned | Fields withheld |
|---|---|---|
search_rfps | Up to 10 | Source document links, contact phone |
search_signals | Up to 3 | Source document links |
get_contacts | Up to 3 | Email, phone |
Searching is free. Contact details and source documents are part of a paid plan.
Free discovery searches are also rate-limited to prevent abuse. If you hit the limit, a short wait clears it.
Metering
Paid plans are metered with monthly credits. Your balance, your usage history and the date your credits reset are all in the dashboard.
Enterprise is never metered.
account_details is free to call on every plan and is never charged.
State coverage
Some subscriptions cover only certain states. A search outside your coverage is refused rather than returned empty.
That distinction is useful. A refusal means the data exists but is not in your plan; an empty result means there was nothing to find. Ask your assistant to run account_details to see which states you cover, and contact us to add one.
Checking what you actually have
Ask your assistant:
What does my Civic IQ account include?
That calls account_details, which reads your account at the moment it runs. It is accurate even when your client is showing a tool list it cached before your plan changed.
Setup should only take a few minutes. If you have any questions along the way, just reach out at [email protected] and we'll help you get connected.
